Marcus F. Abels

Marcus (“Marc”) began practicing law in Des Moines in 1983.  Before joining our firm in 1987, he was engaged in a general civil practice involving a combination of transactional work and litigation.  Marc has continued to advance his knowledge and skill in the areas of real estate, probate, estate planning and business law.  Among other matters, Marc is regularly involved with subdivision platting and development, condominium development, restrictive covenants, easements, abstract examination and title opinions, Iowa Title Guaranty, commercial and residential leases (drafting and negotiation), mortgage foreclosures, quiet title actions, boundary line agreements, partition actions, conveyances, real estate contracts, offers to buy and purchase agreements, closing statements, 1031 tax deferred exchanges, real estate and business closings, probate, wills, trusts, medical directives and powers of attorney.

Marc was born in Des Moines, Iowa on June 6, 1958.  He is a graduate of Roosevelt High School (1976); University of Iowa (B.B.A., 1980); Drake University Law School (J.D., with honors, 1983).
